Got something on your mind that you want to express in a big way? Grab a friend, partner or loved one and join Christy in her studio to print your own posters with antique wood type. Christy will guide you both through the entire process. Learn how to set and lock-up lines of wood type and print on our Vandercook press.
The cost covers two people who plan to attend together. All class materials, equipment and one-on-one instruction are included. The two of you may each design your own posters, or collaborate on one design together. Choose from 8.5 x 11 or 12.5 x 19 inch paper in different colors. You may each print five copies to keep or post around your local community.
Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting ink on. Be prepared to stand as you work. Stairs are required between studio level and restroom. Our studio can sometimes feel cooler, we suggest wearing layers. Please bring your own covered water bottle and non-alcoholic beverages if you’d like to have something to drink while you work. We need everyone to be fully attentive (and not tipsy) when working with our presses.
