First Amendment Letterpress Broadside
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Being creative folks who make a living through artistic and verbal expression, the First Amendment holds special significance for us. We fell in love with this antique, two-color flag cut and decided to use it as the anchor image. It was a challenge to register the smaller flag border, but we’re pleased with the overall results.
Letterpress printed on 100% cotton paper using rubber-based inks, a two-color printers cut, handset metal type and flag border. Trim size 7-3/8 x 10-3/8 inches. Image area 4 x 6-3/8 inches. Packaged in a resealable cellophane sleeve with acid free backing board.
Paper: 100% cotton Rives BFK, cream color. There is a watermark visible in the lower left corner of the paper, and a deckled edge along the bottom.
