Each little note features a Palmer Cox “Brownie” – a small fictional creature who is either up to mischief or willing to be helpful (no guarantee which it will be!). Palmer Cox was the illustrator of the Brownie characters, widely published between 1887 and 1918. Mushroom illustration by Christy Nesja, drawn and hand-carved on linoleum.
Letterpress printed using handset type, a vintage printers cut and linoleum cuts. Blank inside. 4-7/8 x 3-1/2 inches folded. A1 square flap envelopes included. Six cards and envelopes packaged in a clear, rPET, recyclable stationery box.

How we made this: The mushroom illustration was carved from two different pieces of linoleum. We printed the stems first. Then we added the type and Brownie along with our logo on the back. The red mushroom caps were printed last. We used our our floor model platen press to print everything.
